Caroline currently provides freelance training for The National Portage Association (NPA), The National Autistic Society (NAS). Caroline's major work is as a licensed accredited Trainer for Trainers and a Facilitator Trainer of the FRIENDS and Fun Friends Programmes. These programmes are recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as effective approaches in childhood anxiety and emotional wellbeing. Caroline is the only FRIENDS Trainer of Trainers accredited by Pathways to work on their behalf in the UK and Ireland.

Developed by Professor Paula Barrett of the Pathways Research Centre, Brisbane, Australia, the FRIENDS materials accord with Caroline's belief in the importance of teaching children and young people practical and useful skills which can be used in everyday situations.

Having obtained her doctorate in 1999 Caroline has written widely for journals relating to autism and educational psychology in practice. Publications include working a team drafting SIP - Sensory Interactive Profile - an assessment tool for children with profound and multiple difficulties (available from the National Portage Association www.portage.org.uk), Writing and Developing Social Stories (Published by Speechmark www.speechmark.net) and the Venturing into Play Profile (Published by Interactive Connections Ltd)

The combination of practice based on sound theoretical knowledge matched with a clear communication style makes her publications and training events practical useful for a wide range of parents and professionals.
